The 2016 edition of SSIMA took place from July 4 to 8 in Bucharest, Romania, focusing on “Imaging in Cardiology.” Organized by the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and Eindhoven University of Technology, in partnership with Philips South-East Europe, the event featured prominent keynote speakers such as Prof. Polina Golland (MIT), Prof. Nicholas Ayache (INRIA), and Prof. Nikos Paragios (Ecole Centrale de Paris).
The forum gathered 70 participants, from Germany, Sweden, Ethiopia and Eastern European countries. Presentations covered computational modeling in cardiology, 3D printing of cardiac models, and advanced imaging techniques. A dedicated workshop on healthcare technology advancements was also held. The event focused on improving the healthcare practices needed by cardiology patients.
Supported by key academic figures and partners like Philips Romania, SSIMA 2016 successfully fostered discussions and collaborations in medical imaging, contributing to advancements in cardiology practices.
The event gathered in one place not only medtech companies and healthcare providers, but also well known speakers and cardiology doctors. SSIMA 2016 focused on presenting and supporting the most recent medical innovations dedicated to one of the most important areas of medicine, cardiology.
