The 2016 edition of SSIMA took place from July 4 to 8 in Bucharest, Romania, with a focus on “Imaging in Cardiology.” Organized by the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and Eindhoven University of Technology, in partnership with Philips South-East Europe, the event featured prominent keynote speakers such as Prof. Polina Golland (MIT), Prof. Nicholas Ayache (INRIA), and Prof. Nikos Paragios (École Centrale de Paris).
The forum brought together 70 participants from Germany, Sweden, Ethiopia, and Eastern European countries. Presentations covered computational modeling in cardiology, 3D printing of cardiac models, and advanced imaging techniques. A dedicated workshop on advancements in healthcare technology was also held. The event focused on improving the healthcare practices required by cardiology patients.
With the support of leading academics and partners such as Philips Romania, SSIMA 2016 successfully fostered discussions and collaborations in medical imaging, contributing to advancements in cardiology practices.
The event brought together not only medtech companies and healthcare providers, but also well-known speakers and cardiologists. SSIMA 2016 focused on presenting and supporting the latest medical innovations in one of the most important fields of medicine: cardiology.
